Music is a language that can be shared, nurtured, and developed. At our Vancouver music school, we help you play the music that moves you, and the people around you. All skill levels are welcome to experience fun, practical, and holistic lessons through the Solar Method.

We empower our students’ creativity by making composition and songwriting a core part of musical growth. From there, we guide you in sharing your art, whether that’s with your community or with the world.

We are a collection of artists excited to share the joy of music with musicians at any stage of their development. Whether you are a beginner playing their first note, or someone that is a developed artist in their own right - we are here to guide you on your journey and to help unlock your musical and creative potential.

MEET YOUR MENTORS

At Solar Music Academy, we believe the path to becoming a true creative musician starts with guidance from mentors who live and breathe music every day. Our mentors aren’t just instructors - they’re active artists, session musicians, and songwriters who share their passion for music and community with every student they teach. They are here to help students of all ages and skill levels become the musician that they were meant to be.

  • This is where it all begins. Learning an instrument is the first step toward understanding the language of music. At Solar Music Academy, lessons are tailored to each student, whether you’re picking up voice, piano, drums, guitar, or bass. We go beyond drills, exercises, and grades, and instead blend modern approaches with creativity and fun so you can play the music you love while building a solid foundation in musicianship.

  • Do you want to write your own songs? Are you not sure where to start? We encourage creativity in our students and can provide you with the tools and skills to bring your visions to life.

COMMUNITY THROUGH MUSIC

We host regular workshops, webinars, and community events to help nurture the Vancouver music scene. Our focus is on collaboration and building meaningful connections through the sharing of knowledge, wisdom, and support.

Each month, we run songwriter roundtables where artists can showcase their work and receive actionable feedback. Our workshops are designed to give musicians at any stage of their journey clear, practical steps and valuable skills they can immediately put into practice.
