Unlock the Major Scale!

“Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist”
- Pablo Picasso

Music theory is an often-misunderstood subject, and many misconceptions surround it. One common misconception is that music theory hinders creativity. This belief stems from the notion that following set guidelines can limit artistic expression. However, music theory is not meant to be a rigid set of rules that constrain creativity but rather a framework for experimentation and innovation. By understanding the principles of music theory, musicians can better express their artistic vision with precision and nuance.

Solar Music Academy will help you level up your understanding of music and will cover the fundamental aspects of major scales and their modes, chord scale theory, chord functions, chord substitutions, and how to practice and apply these chords to your instrument or production. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate musician, this workshop will provide you with essential knowledge to enhance your musical skills and creativity.

Throughout the workshop, we will guide you through each concept, answering any questions you may have along the way. You'll learn the basics of major scales and their modes, including how to identify and play each mode. We'll also delve into chord scale theory, an important concept that helps you understand how to select chords that fit within a specific scale. Next, we'll cover chord functions, an essential topic that helps you understand the roles each chord plays within a particular key. We'll also explore chord substitutions, a technique that allows you to replace chords in a progression with other chords to add variety and interest to your music. Finally, we'll demonstrate how to practice and apply these concepts to your instrument or production. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a newfound confidence in your ability to use these techniques effectively and elevate your music skills.

Overall, this workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow as a musician, whether you're a beginner or an intermediate looking to expand your musical knowledge. Join Solar Music Academy and take the first step towards achieving your musical goals!
